Commercial Market Update – Sydney Units Cityscope
The latest research from Sydney Units Cityscope shows that apartment sales in Sydney’s CBD have increased both in number and total sales value in the last quarter. For the three months to July 2017, there were 222 sales at a total value of $275 million, compared to 133 sales at a total value of $164.3 million for the previous quarter. The yearly figures have decreased in total sales value and number, with 648 sales at a total value of $781.1 million for the twelve months to July 2017, compared to 929 sales at a total value of $1.194 billion for the previous year.

Notable sales in the July 2017 update of Sydney Units Cityscope include:
- The long term leasehold of Unit 6 in the seven-storey apartment building at 8 Hickson Road, The Rocks, a 261 sqm unit comprising 141 sqm plus 13 sqm balcony and two 1 sqm planters on level 6 and 120 sqm plus 17 sqm balcony and two 1 sqm planters on level 7, was sold for $12 million;
- Unit 4102 on level 41 in the Cove Apartments at 129 Harrington Street, a 222 sqm penthouse, plus 15 sqm and 36 sqm balconies and 57 sqm car parking area, which was sold for $7.5 million;
- Unit 4101 on the same level, a 222 sqm penthouse plus 16 sqm and 36 sqm balconies and 44 sqm car parking area, which was sold for $7.05 million and
- The long term leasehold of Unit 57 on level 14 of the 17-storey apartment building, Macquarie Apartments at 155-161 Macquarie Street, a 198 sqm three-bedroom apartment including a balcony plus a 43 sqm car parking area, which was sold for $4.8 million.
